Current project activities:
We are currently involved in analysis of forests, hedges,  and vines in the region, and have discovered many interesting new aspects about our study area. We are also currently working on additional GIS analysis, and additional remote sensing and aerial photo analysis. We have additional, new historical maps to integrate into our work as well, and we are continuing our integration of historical documentary data, including tax and cadastral data with our 1834 cadastral map GIS data.

Future research activities and directions:

Our long-term project continues, and after we complete our individual thematic investigations of forests, vines, water, agriculture, and population changes over time. our intention is to conduct an integrative analysis of all of these factors over time.
Digital archiving is another important area of future work, as we have thousands of documents, images, and datasets that require proper metadata and archiving.

Publication activities:

We are completing two major publications, in addition to presenting papers at conferences and thematic studies.
We are completing a major volume on Historical Ecology, to be published in 2023 by the Swedish Biodiversity Centre in Uppsala, Sweden.
